I am very excited to announce that I (Sadie Jones) will be launching my children’s fiction book, ‘Seren and the polar bear cub’ at Art and Humanities Day on Saturday 9th November.
The book is all about a young girl called Seren who is inspired by the prospect of seeing the aurora from her garden in South Wales and ends up in Svalbard, Norway on an epic adventure with space scientists from the University of Southampton.
I will be giving out free paperback copies of the book to children who attend the event in the Cultural Quarter of Southampton city centre between 10.30-16.30. Any spare copies will be available from me after the event on request (cover illustration by astronomer and artist John Paice).
I will also be leading 3 ‘Aurora Art’ workshops (suitable for ages 7+) on the day but these have sold out online (a limited amount of tickets will be available on the day. Search the ‘Arts and Humanities day’ website for ‘Science Meets Art’ for more info).
